Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia's expansion programme has substantially increased demand for Indian professional and technical talent, and for Indian delivery capability supporting Saudi operations.
What makes the Saudi Arabia market different
Saudi employers recruiting from India compete against the UAE, Qatar and India's own domestic market for the same candidates. Getting senior and specialist hires right requires assessment against the role rather than reliance on agency supply, which is where most of these searches go wrong — volume of CVs is never the constraint, quality of evaluation is.
Large infrastructure and EPC programmes are a significant driver of this demand. My own background includes an HR lead role in solar EPC, which maps directly onto the project workforce planning, mobilisation and site-staffing problems these programmes create.
Where Saudi companies establish Indian entities for engineering, design or back-office capability, the India-side employment foundation needs building correctly from the outset — contracts, salary structure, statutory registrations and compliance. Retrofitting it after thirty hires is considerably more expensive than doing it at hire one.
There is also a recurring question of retention. Indian professionals recruited into Gulf roles frequently return within two to three years, and employers who plan for a longer tenure than the market actually delivers end up perpetually re-recruiting. Planning around realistic tenure produces better outcomes than trying to prevent it.
To be explicit: I advise on Indian employment practice. Saudi labour law and Saudization requirements need local counsel, and I work alongside them.

HR in Saudi Arabia — common questions
Can you help us recruit engineers from India?
Yes, for senior and specialist roles where a wrong hire is expensive. That means defining the role against the actual problem, assessing candidates structurally rather than on presentation, and benchmarking compensation against what the Indian market genuinely pays. For high-volume recruitment, a specialist agency is a better fit than I am.
Do you advise on Saudi labour law or Saudization?
No. My scope is Indian employment practice. Saudi-side requirements including Saudization need local counsel, and I work alongside them rather than attempting to cover both.
