Home market
Delhi NCR
I am based in Vikas Puri, West Delhi, and most of my in-person work happens across the National Capital Region — Delhi, Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad.
What makes the Delhi NCR market different
The NCR has a quirk that catches out almost every company operating across it: it spans three states. An employer with an office in Gurugram, a second in Noida and a registered office in Delhi is subject to the Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi regimes simultaneously — three Shops and Establishment Acts, three minimum wage notifications, and three sets of registers and returns.
This is the single most common compliance gap I find in NCR businesses. HR applies the Delhi rules uniformly because the head office is in Delhi, and the Gurugram and Noida establishments quietly fall out of compliance. It usually surfaces during an inspection, a diligence exercise, or a dispute raised by a departing employee.
The region's industry mix is unusually broad. Corporate headquarters and professional services concentrate in Delhi. Technology, consulting and shared services sit in Gurugram and Noida. A substantial manufacturing belt runs through Faridabad, Manesar, Bhiwadi and Neemrana. Employee relations practice looks very different at each end of that range — an HR approach built for a Gurugram tech office does not transfer to a Faridabad plant.
For manufacturing employers in the NCR belt, the industrial relations environment is materially more active than in southern India. Disputes are more likely to be organised, and procedural defects in disciplinary action are more likely to be tested. That raises the value of getting the enquiry right the first time rather than defending a shortcut later.
The NCR is also where most India-entry decisions land. Foreign companies establishing an Indian presence frequently start in Gurugram or Noida, and the first three hires are usually made before anyone has looked at Indian employment law. I do a substantial amount of this work.
What I do for Delhi NCR employers
- Tri-state compliance review across Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh establishments
- Fractional CHRO retainers for NCR companies from 50 to 500 people
- POSH external member seat and Internal Committee constitution
- Domestic enquiries, disciplinary procedure and Labour Court support in the NCR manufacturing belt
- HR function set up from scratch for Gurugram and Noida offices
- India-entry employment setup for foreign companies establishing in the NCR
- Leadership hiring across the region's manufacturing, technology and services employers

HR in Delhi NCR — common questions
Do you meet clients in person in Delhi NCR?
Yes. Delhi NCR is my home market, and in-person work across Delhi, Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad is straightforward — particularly for disciplinary proceedings, plant visits and leadership workshops, where being present genuinely matters. Routine advisory runs remotely.
Our offices are in Gurugram and Noida but we are registered in Delhi. Which rules apply?
Each establishment is generally governed by the law of the state it operates in, so a Gurugram office follows Haryana rules and a Noida office follows Uttar Pradesh rules, regardless of where the registered office sits. Minimum wage notifications, registers and Shops and Establishment registration all need handling separately for each. This is the most frequent gap I find in NCR compliance reviews.
What does an HR consultant charge in Delhi NCR?
It depends entirely on the engagement model. A fractional CHRO retainer is priced monthly against defined deliverables; a compliance audit or HR setup project is priced as a fixed scope; a POSH external member seat is an annual retainer plus a fee per sitting. I would rather discuss the actual requirement than quote a number that turns out to be for the wrong thing.
Can you help a Faridabad or Manesar factory with a labour dispute?
Yes. That work — domestic enquiry, charge sheets, conciliation before the ALC, and representation as Management Representative in Labour Court — is a core part of my background, and the NCR manufacturing belt is where I have done most of it.
